Ever since its creation at the end of the 19th century, Centrale de Lyon has had a library. The current building was designed in 1967 by architect Jacques Perrin-Fayolle and requalified in 2005 by architect Marc Givry.
Philosopher Michel Serres presided over its inauguration on March 27, 2006. On this occasion unveiled the text he donated to the École and which now appears on its walls, in the library's entrance hall.
At the heart of the campus and at the service of the École's public, the Michel Serres University Library offers a 1,000 m² living space.
