The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a U.S.-based scientific society that supports scientific research in the field of chemistry. It publishes some of the most important international scientific journals on the subject. Its publications department edits over twenty leading scientific journals (the oldest of which, the Journal of the American Chemical Society, was established in 1879).
